About us

Ben and Laura have spent many years falling in love with the Lake District, hiking through the beautiful landscapes and gradually ticking off Wainwrights. They met through their work and married in Troutbeck Bridge (just south of Ambleside) in 2018 and have always dreamed of having a Cumbrian property to call their own.

We feel very lucky to have found Bracken Howe; a large, elegant Victorian house built in 1880 with the feel and features of a bygone era, but with modern facilities and décor.

The property offers an ideal base for starting many classic Lake District walks (short and long) right from the door, but is also nestled in amongst the local amenities, right in the heart of Ambleside. Despite its central location, the property still enjoys magnificent fell views.
